Before our speaker today, one of our members spoke regarding TIA. Dr. Grabski spoke
regarding a member in attendance at our last meeting having had a mini-stroke. Dr. Grabski
spoke regarding what happens when we get "OLDER". A stroke usually happens with
the blockage of the "right" Carotid Artery. The Carotid Artery is the big artery
that goes up into the brain.
1st Vice President, Jeanne Berkshire, introduced our three speakers. We had
Bill ORullian, Kern County Environmental Health Specialist; AJ, just graduated from
Fruitvale Jr. High and will be attending Liberty High School and Mason Ermstand who will
be in 8th grade at Fruitvale Jr. High. A.J. and Mason are life scouts and A.J.
is working on his Eagle Scout Project on West Nile Virus prevention here in Kern County.
Kern County has a lot of birds because we are located in the area of flights. Some of the

information was very informative and interesting for our members.
